Hello and happy Saturday friends!
This weekend is actually a 3-day weekend, so I am very excited to take it easy and catch up on some much needed rest π I did however, want to hop on here and share some photos from Ian and I’s dinner last night. I have been really trying to push myself to bring my camera around more and last night I managed to snap a few pics! I feel like I have been relying heavily on my phone’s camera for photos, so I am really working on getting out of the habit of just snapping photos on my phone. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with taking photos on your phone, but as someone who used to be very into photography and loves high-res photos.. my phone camera isn’t helping me out much in terms of photo quality (which you notice more when printing your photos) and developing myself further in photography.
That being said, let’s get into our Valentine’s Dinner shall we?
Sapori Trattoria
A few weeks ago, Ian and I decided to be organized “adults” and actually make dinner reservations for Valentine’s Day in advanced. In the past we have made reservations the week.. or day of.. but each time it has left us frustrated with our available options.
We had never been to Sapori Trattoria before, so we decided to give it a try!

And oh boy was I happy that we (or Ian if I am going to be honest) found this place! The atmosphere was incredible π There were candles on each table with festive rose petals scattered for Valentine’s Day.

While enjoying after-work cocktails, we decided to split a brussels sprout salad and catch up on our days while we decided on what to order as our entrees. I always have the hardest time deciding on what to order at restaurants.. so I definitely was happy to have time to really think about what I wanted to order π

After narrowing my options down to their gnocchi and butternut squash ravioli, I opted for their ravioli. How could I resist pumpkin filled ravioli topped with butternut squash???

And wow. Just wow.
Their food was incredible. I found myself struggling to finish my meal.. but also not wanting to not finish my meal. It was that good. I couldn’t stop eating!

Despite how full we both were… we could not resist trying their Tiramisu, so their Tiramisu we ordered! We do not typically order dessert while out to eat.. but wow did that Tiramisu sound incredible.

Absolutely no regrets in ordering their Tiramisu. It was incredible.
After eating at Sapori Trattoria, it is safe to say that Ian and I will be returning here in the future. Their atmosphere, service, and food was just phenomenal. Definitely a great place to go on a nice date in the city π
Now your turn! ~ Did you celebrate Valentine's Day this year? If so, what did you do? ~ What relationships are you thankful for this year? ~ Thoughts on phone vs camera photos?
I spent my Valentineβs Day out with my daughter and took her to dinner and a movie. Iβm happy to finally have the time to sit with her one on one which I was never really able to do before.
Photos from cameras are better but phones are more convenient.

I totally get how you feel on the photography thing and its always a struggle for me too mainly because my DSLR is like 2kg and people always think that because I hold a DSLR I’m ridiculously good at photos and I feel pressured!
Mmm i freaking love brussel sprouts but I’ve never seen it as a salad! Was it good? My god your food looks sooo delicious! Gosh, I haven’t had anything fancy in awhile!
I spent my Valentine’s working and after that just went home and chilled. Nothing special. As usual, I’m grateful for my friends around me. And I think its amazing how despite the major leaps in technology, a 5 year old DSLR can still take better pics than the latest phone.

The restaurant entrees looks delicious!! I’m drooling, haha. It certainly seemed like a difficult decision to make!
I don’t have a camera, so I’m stuck to using my phone, which is suiting me for the most part at the moment. I hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s Day! Never regret ordering dessert for a special occasion!
